I survived exam #2! Now it's time to relax! I am now half way through the CPA exam process, and I think it's important to reward yourself after hard work. Whether that hard work is an intense workout and you want to reward yourself with a little dessert or even if its a long day at work, I think it's important to set aside time to just relax. I don't mean watching TV though, but instead, maybe sitting out on the patio or your backyard and enjoying a cup of tea or glass of wine. Or for me... getting away to a healthy retreat!
Where you ask?? If you recall my hint on the last blog bost (It's named after the lake on which it sits in the state's capital.)... We are going to Lake Austin Spa Resort! My parents gave Sam and I a 3 nights stay at this resort that I have been raving about for our 1 Year Anniversary... Thanks Mom & Dad!
So you might be wondering... Why am I so excited about this place? Well, let me tell you! Just check out this list of daily activities that we have to choose from during our stay. We can wake up to our patio overlooking the lake and some tea, then enjoy a hike around the lake, or a kayak or hydrobike on the lake, OR pilates, OR yoga, OR tai chi, OR swimming in the lap pool in their pool barn. In the afternoon, the award winning chef has cooking demos with all healthy, organic food! Specialty beer and wines are available and their cuisine is based on the goal "to provide guests with a memorable culinary experience that balances nutrition and flavor." Oh, and did I mention their #1 rated destination spa! Okay, I'm starting to sound like an advertisement, but the point is, I'm really excited about this place because it is based on two main things I care about... health and happiness! And relaxation as an added bonus, which is definitely a big part of your overall health and happiness.
This post wouldn't be complete without a picture of
Major as the perfect example of relaxing!
I will admit, I'm not very good at relaxing. I always think of things I should be doing, and then I go do them. Or, I create a "to-do" list in my head or start to worry about something. BUT this weekend, I'm going to try to relax and not think about the CPA exam I just took that I don't feel 100% percent about. SO I invite you to join me, and find some time to just relax! Give yourself a good workout or clean out that closet that you have been meaning to get to (I'm talking to myself here), and then reward yourself with some time to think about NOTHING!
However, I don't recommend getting this relaxed...
This video cracks me up every time.
I'm committing myself to relaxation this weekend, and I'm not taking my computer on the trip, so I will catch up with you next week. I will be taking lots of pics and hopefully learning a lot so I look forward to chatting with you about that next week! In the meantime, I hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend!
With Love, Health, and Happiness,
